1000 MISSIONARY MOVEMENT INDIA

  • The 1000 Missionary Movement is committed to recruit, train, send, and support young people from different countries of the world, so that they can devote one full year of their lives to the Lord for sharing the Gospel with people that may never be able to hear it otherwise. This practical Christian witnessing program is carried on “to every nation, tribe, language and people” (Rev. 14:6).

  • Christ-centered Missionary Movement of youths with a heart of mission.

  • 1. To protect the Adventist young people from the evil influences of the world.
    2. To quickly finish the gospel work, particularly in the unentered territories of India.
    3. To strengthen the local churches with a volunteer missionary spirit.

  • “Here am I, send me”

  • “Once a Missionary, Always a Missionary”

  • The mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is to call all people to become disciples of Jesus Christ, to proclaim the everlasting gospel embraced by the three angels’ messages (Revelation 14:6-12), and to prepare the world for Christ’s soon return.

  • Guided by the Bible and the Holy Spirit, Seventh-day Adventists pursue this mission through Christ-like living, communicating, discipling, teaching, healing, and serving.

  • In harmony with Bible revelation, Seventh-day Adventists see as the climax of God’s plan the restoration of all His creation to full harmony with His perfect will and righteousness.

  • The 1000 Missionary Movement India is guided by the basic beliefs and values inherent in the mission and vision of the Seventh-day Adventist Church :

    ·       Providing a harmonious environment in which our missionaries are encouraged to know Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and Friend.

    ·       Having a balanced learning environment that strengthens the body, expands the mind, and develops character.

    ·       Promoting personal responsibility, leadership development, and the joy of service in this world and for service in the world to come.

    ·       Learning how to reach and practicing tolerance of other cultures and differences, empowering our missionaries to act upon injustice in order to make a difference.

    ·       Expecting all members of our training community to be forthright and honest, to maintain personal integrity in all relationships, and to embrace our core values. Respect for God, ourselves, and our fellow human beings is fundamental.

    ·       To be partnership with the work of God by training young missionaries in practical ways to fulfill the Great Commission of the church  (Matt. 28:19,20).

1000 Missionary Movement

The 1,000 Missionary Movement (1000 MM) is a training institution of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church initiated by the Northern and Southern Asia-Pacific Divisions. Its purpose is to train, send and support 1,000 young people every year as missionaries to every part of the world, hence the name 1,000 Missionary Movement.

“With such an army of workers as our youth, rightly trained, might furnish, how soon the message of a crucified, risen, and soon-coming Saviour might be carried to the whole world! How soon might the end come–the end of suffering and sorrow and sin!” (Education, p. 271). Our young people should be saved from the evil influences of the world and one of the ways to do this is to get them involved in global evangelism!

Our Vision for the 1,000 Missionary Movement is to work with God in training young missionaries do service for Jesus, withersoever they may be called to labour. We envision that this training will include strengthening the missionaries in their spiritual foundations; giving them training in evangelistic aspects such as preaching and teaching, as well as Literature Evangelism; and preparing them to reach souls through the healing discipline of Medical Missionary work.

After a training consisting of nine weeks, our missionaries will be prayerfully sent out to various mission fields nigh and afar off, even around the world. The missionaries will be trained and support in their various fields of duty where the Lord shall see fit to place them.
